Alan currently serves as the CTO/Practice Leader for SDLC Partners' Technology Solutions Practice.
He is a seasoned technical leader and planner with extensive experience impacting enterprise bottom line and performance through expert alignment of technologies with corporate mission. From a long career history, including the role of Chief Technical Officer at UPMC and as a Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute, Alan is adept at leading all aspects of IT operations, building and managing successful teams, and controlling costs.
Alan has a strong background in the healthcare industry, with a proven ability to improve profitability through development of tactical solutions, management of quality initiatives, identification of business opportunities, analysis of business processes, and process improvement. Alan is an accomplished executive with excellent skills in leadership, training, and communications.
In his role as CTO/Practice Leader, Alan is responsible for managing SDLC Partners' Development Practice including the downtown Pittsburgh Solutions Center, building out the firms' application development capabilities and working with clients to deliver on-time, on-budget projects that exceed client expectations. In addition, he is responsible for research and development of new technologies.
Alan has his BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
